Fireplace Repair

When something is wrong at the fireplace, the cause can be in the firebox, the damper, the flue or the top of the chimney. We sort out which, then repair it.

Why we inspect first

Fireplace problems are often connected. Rust in the firebox suggests water from the top. Smoke in the room can come from the damper, the smoke chamber, the flue or the way the house is drawing air. Replacing a part without finding the cause can mean replacing it again. A fireplace inspection traces the problem to its source before anything is repaired.

What we repair

  • Dampers: repair, replacement and top-sealing dampers
  • Firebox: brick, mortar joints and panels
  • Smoke chamber surfaces
  • Chimney-side causes: caps, crowns, flashing and liners

If a problem is outside what we do, we tell you.

A fireplace that is smoking, smelling or showing damage should not be used until you know why.
